The theme of our conference call last night was awesomeness and that is exactly what it was. Raw organic crude awesomeness! A lot of topics came up through out the course of the dialogue. The most exciting thing of course was, as was previously posted, the huge success of the live auction on the seventh of October. Pulling in six thousand dollars to add to the coffers. This makes enough money to buy a bus today if we should so desire as the second topic the crew discussed was our various bus options. A school bus is being offered to us right now for four grand. It has good tires and is in working condition and the owners really want to sell it. It would be easier to work on down in Central America if anything were to happen. However, it would not have a bathroom and be slower than a cruiser type bus. The cruiser bus is three times as much, so we pondered the upsides and downsides of each respective purchase. In the end a final decision was not completely reached but the fact that if push came to shove we could take the school bus and leave on the trip tomorrow is very exciting.
The trip has been lengthened into a nine week adventure as seven-weeks was deemed to be too rushed and didn’t leave enough time to spend in our making a difference locations and surfing. Nine weeks of traveling, inspiring, growing as individuals and helping others. December 1sth is fast approaching and the brainstorming for fundraising is being kicked into high gear. Ideas flowing are a dinner party with a pay-per-place price tag, performance art, setting up tables and asking people on the street for donations from coast to coast, and bringing information to all the respective Halloween parties we will all undoubtedly be attending this October 31st and trying to rouse up some money for a good cause, tax-deductible too mind you. All in all we are moving along nicely and we intend to continue on our pace and leave this country come December to get out there and make a difference in this world-our world. As the youth in this country, we are the ones who have to live with this planet for the better part of this century; and we intend to try to make it a better place to live for us and for everyone that we come into contact with. We intend to spread our love, creativity and our humanity to all corners of the earth and we need all the help we can get. So if you aren’t already, jump on board and get with the program.
